Something exciting!

I'm excited to announce the grand opening of my Etsy shop, ScrapistaMakes.  It's full of mini albums just waiting for your photos.  I'll be posting even more albums soon.  These will make perfect Christmas presents. Hint, hint :-)

Scrap It Girl's Mid-Month Challenge

Hey everybody!  While my creative time has been limited lately, I did have the chance to create a mini-album for Scrap It Girl's mid-month challenge "Got Wood?".  Each member of the design team had the chance to use one of Genuinely Jane Studio's wood mini-albums.  I chose the circle mini-album...because of course I gravitate to anything that even remotely resembles a polka-dot!

I mainly used elements from Studio Calico's September kit, with a few embellishments thrown in.  My favorite part?  Using Tim Holtz tissue tape around the edges of the book instead of painting or trying to get paper all the way to the edge.  I think I'll definitely be using this idea again in the future!

I also broke out my new Silhouette to cut the paper to fit on the circular discs.

Scrap It Girl August Challenge

I can't believe it's August already! Goodness.  And since it's August, it's time for another challenge from Scrap It Girl!

August is all about mini albums.  It's the perfect time to print a few of your photos from the summer, pair them with your favorite patterned paper and embellishments and create a fabulous way of remembering your adventures!

Getting Ready

I'm getting ready.  I'm going to Hawaii!  I'm sure my close friends are tired of hearing about it, but that's just tough :)  This is the longest vacation I've ever taken and certainly the longest trip where I haven't been visiting family.  I'll be visiting with my scrappy friend, Nicole and her husband.  Hoping for lots of relaxation and fun in the sun with a little tourist action thrown in(pray now that I manage to be a grown-up and not get sunburned). 

Getting ready to leave for a trip like this means I have to cram a month's worth of my 9-5 job into about a week and a half, so it's been crazy busy.  And will be until Thursday night.  And then I am home free!  All I have to do after that is run errands and pack and visit friends and be crafty. 

Until then, here's a little project I started to help me keep track of my stamps.  I think I've given up on this system, only because I'm too lazy to stamp new stamps in the book.  Details, details.  ;)  But I'm still loving the little book.

I've been using transparencies more and more on my projects.  They are much thicker than standard transparencies from the office supply store.  I purchased mine at a local graphics store. They work well on covers because of their weight - they can support paper without buckling.  I love them.

 

Monday Lovin' - Bloom Market Edition

Lovin' today.  Had a wonderful Friday and Saturday at Bloom Market!  Kerri (our organizer) was fantastic, the location at The Tannery in Buford was inviting and funky cool, and the sale itself was super successful!

Those two days went by so quickly, especially since we had so many friends visit us throughout the day!  For all of you who came out to support us, here's a big THANK YOU!  You made my day.

My first ever table display.  I'm really happy with how it turned out!  I learned a lot, especially ideas for making it a bit easier on myself for next time!

Here's Jane (Janie Jane's on Etsy), my partner in crime!  It made all the difference having a friend nearby.  We tend to be a little cray-cray together :)  but we managed to control ourselves the majority of the time.  I won't mention our behavior after coffee and cupcakes on Friday night! :)  I love her!

Seriously considering listing the remaining few items on Etsy.  Should I?

The "Old" Pinterest

Pinterest is my bestest friend in the whole wide world.  If Pinterest didn't have to exist, I'd have to kick it old school, with pages torn from magazines collecting in piles.  Raise your hand if you had a three-ring binder with page protectors for all of your "ideas"?  Come on - admit it! :)

And say you still had a few of those torn pages laying around....or *clearing throat* some from this year?  I think they deserve a little cuteness.
