The end of a wonderful weekend...

Well, it's almost over. It's been busy, but productive and creative. The perfect beginning of the holiday season. At least in my little world.

I made soup! It started out as White Chicken Chili, but ended up as spicy chicken noodle. Don't ask how that happened, but it sure is yummy. And super easy, considering I made it in the crock pot. Thanks to Nana for the wonderful housewarming gift. It is marvelous!

I also started working on my holiday cards. I used my Cricut big time - for all of th embelishments for the cards. The next step - gliterize! I think I should probably coin that term.

Speaking of gliterize...see how I did that :) I definitely used Stickles glitter on the fun Christmas project I worked on this weekend.

I've always been in a quandry about what to do with Christmas cards that I receive each year. I don't want to throw them away, but the minimalist in me doesn't want to hold on to cards for years and years.

Ali Edwards linked over to a Christmas project she completed last year - and I decided to do my own rendition. The best part of this? I used pieces of holiday cards I have received in the past - along with some Basic Grey and Anna Griffin holiday paper to fill in the blanks.

Is there a piece of a card you sent me? Can you figure it out?

Fine Dining At It's Best

Dinner at Re-Re’s. Otherwise known as the “yellow and brown dinner”. Not a vegetable to be found. This is probably why it’s best for them to eat at home as much as possible!

I don’t have a dining room table – well, I have a table, but no chairs. Victoria’s suggestion? “You could by a table at the store, Re-Re. You could buy chairs there, too!”

15 Days Until Thanksgiving!

It just hit me like a ton of bricks.  Bam.  Thanksgiving is in 15 days!  And Christmas is in 48 days!  Uh oh!  I think I am officially in the holiday spirit.

And my house smells like cinnamon.  The only thing that can get any better would be some time to enjoy being at home.   And I think that may just happen this weekend.  I may go "underground" and enjoy a little scrapping creativity.  And maybe hang a picture or two on the walls of my apartment.  And probably watch White Christmas.

And, I've put in a request to have the week of Christmas off at work.  So, I see lot's of scrappin' time coming up.  The only thing I need is a drafting chair so I can sit at my scrap table.  I'm looking for something used, I don't want to pay full price since I'm not planning on keeping it forever, just until I find the bar height chairs I really want for the table.  I just need something temporary.  I've been looking on craigslist…freecycle is next.   Cross your fingers!

I've got pictures from this past weekend in Port St. Joe, as soon as I get my computer to recognize the USB cable I'll get them downloaded.

More soon!

Port St. Joe

Good Morning! Sitting in 1 of the 2 hotels in Port St. Joe. Everyone is still sleeping and I am enjoying a little "alone" time, before the troops are up and running!

We are here to see the ocean and eat tons of good seafood, and visit Lana. Today is also the Appalachicola seafood festival, so we'll head the 25 or so miles over to check it out. I have fond memories of the festival...we went when I was younger...we'll see if it's as grand as I remember.

Here's hoping everyone has a wonderful weekend!
