New Layouts for ScrapChic!

I've been working on new layouts for ScrapChic. Here's the first of several. My goal was to get as many photos as possible on one layout. 8 was the magic number!

Saturday is a big day in the scrapbooking world. National Scrapbooking Day! We were originally going to go to Archiver's for the day, but I think the venue has changed and we're headed to Laurel's house instead!

More soon!

You can't tell me this isn't absolutely cute!

You can't tell me this isn't abslutely cute! I had the great honor of going to Victoria's (my little nieceling - well, not by blood, but close enough) t-ball game on Saturday. She's #3. She makes me giggle.

And here she is in action. Love the purple glove (which by the way matches her purple shirt, and no, I'm not crazy. The shirt really is purple in real life...I just couldn't get the color adjusted in Picasa and I'm feeling to lazy for Photoshop tonight). And really love the little boy in the background. The ball was heading for him too, but he was quite content *actually, he seems rather relieved* that Victoria could handle it!

Focus

Saturday was ScrapChic's official design team reveal and we celebrated by each creating a tag for customers to create while we introduce ourselves!  Everyone's ideas were so different and we had several new scrapper's make an appearance so it was fun to show them the ropes!  Here's the transparency tag I created for the event. I love, love the paper for the flowers.  But then of course I love just about anything that has polka dots!

I have a few new layouts and am working on a couple more this week, so I'll be sharing soon!

This week is all about focus.  And, that may very well be my "word" for the year – as talked about on Ali's blog.  I know we are little far into the year, but it's taken me this long to really discover what I really need this year….focus.  Yay!

On that note, tonight and tomorrow night are all about focusing on one thing and sticking with it.  I'm so prone to try and do to many things at one time, and being easily distracted.  No more!  Well, at least not tonight! J

Have a wonderful day!

Girly Movies Update

I updated the Girly Movies post!  Check it out at http://rebeccaboyer.blogspot.com/2008/04/favorite-girly-movies.html

It's all in your imagination...

I haven't really fallen off the face of the earth...it just seems like it...it's all in your mind...you're getting very, very sleepy....

Did my attempt at hypnosis work? Can I command you to write me a check for a million dollars?

Anyhooo - I've been feeling poorly, so the blog as well as a lot of other things are suffering.  I'll be back soon...

Pasta Primavera

So I got adventurous earlier this week and decided to try a recipe from Pioneer Woman for Pasta Primavera. And man, o’ man was it good. Tons of vegetables with pretty decadent sauce. I was pretty proud of myself. I did make the full recipe which means I had WAY too much food, so I shared it with Aveline and Brian. This dish could feed a good sized family for days!

This is definitely an “every once in a while” dish because of the sauce, but it’s totally worth it!
Yummy!

Just in case you wondered...

How GOYBSPN went this week. I started with this pile of laundry to sort and iron.

And ended with this pile of laundry to sort and iron.

That about sums it up. It's all still sitting there, but considering I can't really walk down the hallway with all of the clothes in the way, I have to do something THIS AFTERNOON!!

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow since all of our scrappin' friends are getting together at Mom's to scrapbook. We've rented out the community room...it's gonna be really nice!

Also, my Aunt Patricia has started her own blog. Check it out at http://oiwiwaomw.blogspot.com/

More soon!

Favorite "Girly" Movies - UPDATE AGAIN

So, I got this idea from someone else's blog and for the life of me I can't remember whose it was. If I remember, I'll update this post. Whoever you are, I give you full credit. I promise!

So, here are quotes from my top 10 girly movies. Your challenge is to guess as many of the movies correctly. No sneaking over to Google or IMDB either! Remember, "Cheaters wear a frown, smilers wear a crown!" Miss Congeniality

For those of you stellar movie people, that quote isn't quite accurate – but it works in my cheaters warning!

Leave your answers in the comments section – you never know, there may be a little prize involved!

Can I just say, I love, love, love these movies! Looking at the quotes make me want to go home and watch them all!!!

How about a few hints...

  1. "Let's not put the "duh" in dumb!" Can you say "spirit fingers!" - Yay Sandy! Good job! BRING IT ON
  2. "I don't know, but I think what I've got is something slightly resembling... GUMPTION!" Do you know what a "cute meet" is?
  3. "Do I look like I own tights?" - Yay! Misti guessed this one! It's Step Up.
  4. "I don't have them. I must have left them in my girdle." There is lots of singing in this one...and white cold melty stuff. - Sandy again! It seems we are kindred spirits in the WHITE CHRISTMAS department!
  5. "Our love fern! You let it die!" How to Lose A Guy In 10 Days
  6. "Careful with that one. You break it, you bought it!" Super cheesy movie. Think ballet.
  7. "Can you tell I'm wearing underwear? 'Cause I totally am" 13 Going On 30!
  8. "There *is* no "unless." No one has said "whoopsidaisies" for fifty years and even then it was only little girls with blonde ringlets." Notting Hill guess by Lisa!
  9. "I'm now poor. When I say I'm poor, I mean we may have to share a helicopter with another family" My second favorite movie starring the same person as my first favorite movie...see #10. TWO WEEKS NOTICE - Sandy again!
  10. "I'm sorry, what was the question? I was distracted by the half-masticated cow rolling around in your wide-open trap." Miss Congeniality by Lisa! If she hadn't known this one...we would have had to have a serious conversation!

The Ironing Initiative

It's Wednesday!  And you know what that means?  GOYBSPN!  I've made the decision that I can't do it every week, otherwise I may never get to actually scrapbook and I was worried that it may just turn into a household chore night.  That isn't the purpose of the challenge, but rather to do something you really have delayed in doing for some reason or another.  So, on that note, tonight is the night for ironing.  Yep, you heard me, ironing.  Ironing to me is about the worst possible activity I can think of, except sewing.  And since sewing involves ironing and well…you see the problem.  It's vicious.

I've written here before about how my mom is the queen of ironing.  She irons everything.  And I mean everything.  Most of you have heard the story about her ironing my clothes for summer camp.  Shorts, shirt, socks, underwear.  All of it ironed and folded neatly into a pile and each day's outfit was sealed in a Ziploc bag.  For the 8 year old at sleep-away camp it was perfect.  For the 29 year old who abhors ironing that idea is hell on earth.  What in the world will I do when my future children go to summer camp?  Will I throw their clothes in a suitcase and hope they can put together an outfit on their own?  Probably not, but I don't have to enjoy the act of ironing.  No sireee.

So that, ladies and gentlemen, is tonight's activity.  I currently have a pile of clean, but very wrinkled clothes that have taken over the bedroom floor (I really hope my Mom is not reading this right now).

I will endeavor to make my Momma proud.

The SMART is here!

I want one. This lady kept giving me dirty looks so I had to be all non-chalant about taking photos. Call me Bond...Rebecca Bond.

National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day

Did you know that today is National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day?  Yep – it is.  If I didn't have my heart set on Chinese for lunch, I would have a pb&j sandwich for lunch.   I have to say that I don't eat peanut butter and jelly often.  Peanut butter and honey on crackers?  All of the time.  I doubt there is a peanut butter and honey day…nope – Google has officially confirmed there is no such thing!

What is your favorite peanut butter combo?

I *heart* scrapbooking paper!

I ran by Scrap Chic today at lunch to pick up paper for new design team stuff – and what was in my stack? New Prima Papers!!! Now, I realize that I typed that last sentence all in caps – but it needed to be done. These papers are absolutely lovely. Here are a couple of my favorites! I have several different sheets and can't wait to see how the new layouts turn out.

Check out all of their new releases here - http://www.primamarketinginc.com/index.php?cat_id=50

And then, I got to choose some Basic Grey! It was hard to choose just a few pieces, but I went with Boxer. I've been wanting to see it in person – and it's as funky as it looks on the computer on the computer screen.

It's Tuesday, but I sure do wish it were Friday. I woke up yesterday morning already wishing for the weekend. That is not a good sign J This week, however, seems to be going pretty smoothly. Workin' for the weekend!!!

Mom's Birthday Party

It's been a couple of weeks since Mom's party - but I finally got around to downloading a few photos.
