She did it....again.

eMo has started a new blog...again. We'll give her credit for creating not one, but three blogs to create this one final one. Hopefully it will stick this time. Cross ou fingers.

Anyhoo - here it is!

Ellen

Goodnight!

Smile Full of Hope

Here's one of the layouts I completed on Saturday. It was a embellishment "user-upper". :) I had trouble with the flash reflecting off of the photo - and a photo without flash looked worse....so, this is as good as it gets.

So sad the weekend is over...but happy that the next one is only 4.5 days away!

It's been so cold for the past few weeks (I know, I know, it's warm compared to what those from the north experience – but it's a big deal here when it actually snows!) that when I get home at night or on the weekends, all I want to do is get warm which leads to a not very productive home and scrappin' life.  But it's warmed up a bit, the sun is shining and I had the most wonderfully busy weekend.

I left work a little early on Friday to go to the Aveda Institute to get my hair highlighted.  The fun thing about this place is that it's a school, and the students use you as their practice runs.  Now, this could potentially be a disaster, especially if you end up with someone who flunked Color 101, but I got a great girl and my hair looks fabulous.  And all for less than half the price of highlights at a salon.   Then I went over to Mom's for a delicious dinner of spinach salad and shrimp.  Did I say it was delicious?????  Super yummy.  My Aunt Patricia is visiting, so we had a great little visit.

Saturday was an early day, but I never seem to have trouble waking up early on a scrappin' day.  Packed up the car and headed up to Archiver's at the Mall of Georgia to meet Misti, Laurel, Sandy, Stephanie and Roxie.  Oh, and Jenni, but she was hosting mania, so we only got to visit for a little bit.  I was going to work on a mini album of my trip to Australia, but just wasn't motivated.  So, I worked on a layout of Victoria and one of Jonathan, and messed around with a couple of cards.  I normally like to be way more productive, but it was so relaxing, I just didn't care if it took all day.  It had been so long since we all got together, we had a lot to catch up on.  It was exciting to see and congratulate Misti, Sandy & Laurel on their weight loss.  I am so proud of each of you!!

I kicked butt on my house yesterday, cleaning and doing laundry, putting things away.  I finally cleared out the outside closet where we stored all of the packing materials from my move.  I cleaned it all out and took it to the dumpster.  I even got my taxes done (I had some trouble submitting, but will do that tonight).

On a sad note, my 10 month obsession with all things by director Joss Whedon has come to a close.  I started watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer at Aveline's recommendation in April of last year.  As of yesterday I finished watching all 7 seasons of Buffy and 5 seasons of Angel.  It's a sad, sad day.  Now what will I watch?  Anyone have a recommendation?

Hope ya'll have a wonderful day!

Drumroll, please.......

Okay, I'm officially tooting my own horn (for today at least). Scrap Chic Boutique just announced their newest design team members and I have the honor of being one of them! Whoohoo. Doing the happy jig!

I am so excited to be able to do something that I feel so passionately about. And also have the opportunity to share that passion with other people.

More details soon!

What up?

Hello, hello! How's it all going? I've been pretty low key the past couple of days, especially since I've been working feverishly on a big deadline for "real" work. You know, the kind where you have to get up every morning and go to a office and do work, even if it's not your life's work, but rather, someone elses? But if I have to work towards someone else's life work, I could be in much worse places. :)

Anyhoo - our big presentation was today. And it went really well - there is still so much to do, but it is a big relief to have it rolled out to the masses. Now we can start trouble shooting.

Counting down the days to Saturday and a fun day of scrappin' with the girls. It's been so long and I am so ready. Now, to decide what to work on...I've got lots of ideas!

The Amazing Race finale was last night and I was super excited for TK and Rachel! They played a really good game, didn't yell at each other too badly, and managed to make their relationship stronger instead of tear it apart. Soooo, much better than some of the other teams. Congratulations!

More later!

How many 5 year olds could I take in a fight, you ask?

According to http://www.howmanyfiveyearoldscouldyoutakeinafight.com/ I could take 18. I am so macho.

Another survey available on www.justsayhi.com tells me that I am 43% likely to eat my friends if starving during a blizzard.

It's a sad, sad day :)

YESSSSSS!

Score!!! Nathan and Jennifer have been eliminated from Amazing Race! Doing the elimination jig!!!

For those who don't know - I'm a little obsessed with this show. This was the last episode before the big finale and I so didn't want them to be in the final. And honestly, I would love it for any of the three remaining teams to win, although I have loved TK and Rachel's approach to the game. Till next week...

It's almost Friday!

And I am so happy. This week at work has been brutal. We are working on a huge deadline (we've been working on it for the past 9 months) and the big finale is Monday, January 21st. I am not in charge, thank goodness, and am merely a side player, but it's been rough. All of that coupled with someone resigning on our team and I think we'll be so ready to have a party when it's finished. :)

I'll be working at least one day this weekend - and taking Mom to get her hair cut tomorrow. Most of you don't know, but she officially lost her job the day after Christmas. I have been so incredibly impressed by her composure during this time. I wish I had about 10% of her grace. Anyway, she's getting a hair cut so she can be her shining best for interviews. Cross your fingers that interviews will start happening next week. I have to say, I believe it will be easy. Every event that has had to occur since she moved back to the states has been so easy, painless really. Amazingly so and oh so God given. It won't take any time at all, I'm sure.

It's hard to believe we are already 10 days into the new year. Whew! I'm excited for what is to come!

Oh - I'm reading a fantastic book, Eat, Pray, Love. I'm only in chapter 4 and I am already head over heels loving it!

Finally out in the light again...

Feeling much better! Thanks everyone for your well wishes!

Here's a little better picture of the new scrap area - light enough to actually see what is going on.
I am so enjoying having all of my things nearby and semi-organized. It makes me want to scrap!

And here's a better photo of the holiday cards!
I was so bummed to miss out on scrapbooking at Archivers, but I'm glad we are able to reschedule in a couple of weeks, minus Stephanie (BBBOOOOOOO-HHHOOOO! Is that dramatic enough for you??)
I even missed Laurel's birthday - but since she was sick, too, I think she'll forgive me. Just think of it as totally stretching out all of the birthday celebration! :) I'm considering this week as the first week of the year since I missed out last week.
I didn't make any resolution, but my mind and heart has been full of thoughts of what the upcoming year will bring - more later!

Out of Commission...

Home sick with upper respiratory infection, bronchitis and the flu all rolled into one. Blech.

Happy New Year!
