Bittersweet

It's about 9 o'clock on Sunday night. As soon as I'm finished with this post, I'm headed to the sofa to watch Amazing Race...and then to bed so I can have a good start to the week. My brother is still here, and I've enjoyed every minute I've been able to spend to him. And there is more to come!

I'm still reeling from some heartbreaking developments at the 9 to 5. And thankful to still have a job, but struggling with having to go to work tomorrow and be missing the faces of some of my favorite people, some of which I had come to depend on for humor and laughter and friendship and blessed dependability. I miss them all already. Words can't even describe.

And in the midst of it all, after everything that happened, going to dinner with my dear brother, who made me laugh and forget about it for even a few minutes. Man, I miss having him around all of the time.

whew....sorry about the Debbie-downer moment....regaining my composure...

New developments in blogland are forthcoming! Can't wait for the unveiling!

And here's a new blog I've discovered "My Message Here" It's all about the Sansom Window Project. I keep waiting to see if they'll post my message! But in the meantime, it's fun to see what other messages people post!

I probably shouldn't have....

I probably shouldn't have scrapped on Saturday...but I did anyway. A grown girl should know better when she's sick, but I suffered a momentary lapse in good judgement. But, I sure was productive. Here's a two page layout I had the honor of doing for Jenni's wedding album. Thanks for letting me contribute!

Shout-Out!

Thanks for the shout-out, Marci!  Marci Lambert is showcasing her "followers" in a series of emails.  And today I'm on the list!

Slowly recovering from the longest.lastign.cold/laryngitis.ever.  And spending time with "the Australian".  Hehehe.  I may have to rescue him from our Mom soon….she's loving having her baby boy home!

On another note, Jessica Sprague, in all of her genius, is starting a new class.  And even better, it's free!  Head on over to register!  It'll be a fun couple of weeks!

The Australian

My 'Australian' brother is stateside!  It's pretty funny how we haven't even seen him yet and won't for a couple of days, but he feels closer already.  Thanks to Marie for letting him come visit :)  We appreciate it!

I'm still recovering from the ickies - feeling good, but my throat not cooperating during the healing process.  One minute I have a voice, and the next not so much.   Recovered enough, though, to be excited about scrappin' on Saturday.  Laurel has kindly invited us all to her house for a day of creativity!  I can't wait.  Now, to decide what I'm working on….I've got so many fun ideas rolling around in my head, I can't make a decision!

Will I work on Christmas presents?  Or Christmas cards?  Or layouts? Or cards?  Or……AAAACCKKK!!  What a wonderful dillema!

Talk to you soon!

More Layouts...

It's been a while since I posted layouts. At least I'm pretty sure I haven't posted these yet....

Happy Birthday Jonathan!

In honor of Jonathan's 2nd birthday - sorry I missed your birthday party, buddy!

This is the new Heidi Swapp paper, a little grungy, but oh so fun!

I've been very puny the past couple of days, and last night and this morning seemed to be worst of it. eMo delivered chicken noodle soup with matzo (sp?) balls for lunch, diet coke and cough drops - had a good nap and woke up feeling much better. Must have been the care from "Nurse Jane Fuzzy-Wuzzy".

Have a wonderful weekend!

No more regrets...or guilt for that matter!

"There are two kinds of pain – the short-term pain of discipline and the long-term pain of regret."

That line has stuck with me all week.   Pastor Kevin talked about health and fitness at church on Sunday.  It's a first for me.  Honestly, when was the last time it was addressed in a church?  I have to be completely honest, I was taken aback when I realized what the topic was going to be, and even more, filled with trepidation.  But in the end, it was completely appropriate, and completely God sent.  Anyway…the line above has been in my head all week.  And it doesn't just apply to food or exercise.

More than anything, it's about changing our habitual responses.  My desire to yell in the direction of the car that cut me off on the highway…spending money on something that doesn't hold value, or isn't necessary…eating dessert just because it's available and not because I really want it…not holding my tongue when someone hurts me.  The potential regret that comes from those responses is massive…much more than the need to purchase, eat or feel vindicated.

I refuse to live a life full of regret and guilt. There…I said it!

On another note….my brother will be here in 11 days…or in 10 sleeps (depending on how you count!).  Whoohoo!  Can't wait!

Oh, and Kolette's class at Big Picture Scrapbooking has begun!  I'm excited!

Happy World Card Making Day!

In honor of World Card Making Day, I finished the cards started at Creative Escape during the Friday Night Extravaganza!

It's a beautiful fall day, the windows are open, a fun movie is playing in the background....off to work on a couple of layouts!

Have a wonderful day!

October!

Happy October!  It's been a productive week, but I can't show you much of what I've been working on.  But I promise, I'll have some posts soon, as soon as I hear back from a couple of companies I have submitted to!

Tuesday night was absolute luxury (this is going to sounds crazy) but I spent a good two hours walking up and down the aisles at Hobby Lobby with eMo.   I think we both could have spent a couple more hours, but they made us leave *sigh*.  In fact, now that she's realized that HL is awfully close to her house, I think she may take up residence.  She went back the next morning to look at patterns.  :)  I didn't purchase much, my first "Christmasy" decoration of the year - peppermint candles that were 50% off, some alcohol inks, also 50% off, one piece of paper (gold with raised velvel pokeys) and three cast iron hooks for my closet.  Not a single one of these items was on my list, but I'm awfully happy I ended up with them!

Very much looking forward to this weekend - nothing planned except being crafty in way or another.  I have a list of things I'd like to work on - as long as my arm, so I'm hoping to make a dent!  And Saturday is World Card Making Day - so I'll definitely be making a few cards!

Happy birthday to Chris!

Have a wonderful day!
