Rebecca’s Guide to Packing

Look at your packing list
Look at it again
Sit down on the sofa and watch a little tv
Remember that you favorite t-shirt needs to be washed
Run to the bedroom to dig it out of the dirty clothes and throw it in the washing machine
Get distracted by the dust on top of the washing machine
Wipe the dust off, then get inspired to scrub the entire laundry room closet
2 hours later, look at your packing list
Look at it again.
Repeat steps 4 through 10

Yikes.

Arizona here I come!

Must-Have Vacation Reading List

People Magazine – this is a must have for the airplane.
Breaking Dawn – I’ve been waiting to read until vacation! Eleven Hours – I’ve been waiting to read this one too!

What is your “must-have” reading item?

5 days till vacation!

5 days!  Yep, you read correctly.  5 days until the plane takes off for sunny Arizona.  Granted, I'm a little concerned...especially after finding this list.

You know you are in Arizona when…

The best parking is determined by shade.....not distance.

You realize that "Valley Fever" isn't a disco dance.

You can make sun tea instantly.

Hotter water comes from the cold water tap than the hot one.

You actually burn your hand opening the car door.

You put on fresh sunscreen just to go check the mail box.

Some fools will market mini-misters for joggers and some other fools will actually buy them. Worse.....some fools actually try to jog.

You can fry an egg on the hood of a car in the morning.

You know hot air balloons can't rise because the air temperature is hotter than the air inside the balloon.

No one would dream of putting vinyl inside a car.

You hear people say "but it's a dry heat!"

You think someone driving wearing oven mitts is clever.

Vehicles with open windows have the right-of-way in the summer.

People who have black cars or black upholstery in their car are automatically assumed to be from out of-state or nuts.

You feed your chickens ice cubes to keep them from laying hard-boiled eggs.

Petrified doesn't mean scared.

The temperature drops below 95, you feel a bit chilly.

You realize that asphalt has a liquid state.

This has got to be the best one! You've experienced condensation on your butt from the hot water in the toilet bowl.

This is not a dress rehearsal...

No, my 30th birthday didn't kill me! I'm still here. Laurel did such a wonderful job describing the events of the evening, I'll let you read it here . We had a blast. And I do have to say, I love, love laser tag! We are definitely going back!

My birthday celebration started back on August 4th. I took a little trip to East Atlanta to do something I've wanted to do for about five years. I got a tattoo!

Here are a few photos of the super cool shop! I had a really good experience here, I was definitely nervous, but once I arrived and we got started, I was completely comfortable!

More on the tattoo and it's meaning soon!

I love Gerber daisies.  And especially love them on my birthday!

The Olympics Have Officially Begun...

Especially after last nights US men's relay! I was up off the sofa, fists raised in the air watching the end of that race! Yikes! And then super siked when they took the gold. I'm loving it!

Here's another photo from Friday. Have you figured it out yet?

Saturday

It's been a delectable Saturday. Slept in a little, watched the olympics, devoured the new Ikea catalog, planned out my next round of scrapbooking pages, worked on sorting and deleted old images off of the computer...and went to look at my Mom's new apartment and then to dinner. Yummy Golden Buddha.

Unfortunately, it's now 12:30 and I just am not sleepy. But I am trying to get myself up and to church in the morning which means I have to go to bed. Maybe I need some warm milk :)

I'll leave you with a photo taken on Friday - at location to be named later. Can you guess?

2008 Olympics

How have I let another 4 days go by without blogging?  Argh.

We are just one day away from the opening ceremony for the 2008 Olympics.  And I am practically giddy!  Let me tell ya, I am not a sports girl, but there is something about the Olympic games that gets my blood pumping!   Even more, this year, is the fascination with China.  Our office is considering doing work in China, so we've been researching the country and their business practices.  We watched the series Ted Koppel did on the Discovery channel and have been reading a lot on the internet.  I'm completely fascinated by the political process – and the people's response to that process.  And the next couple of weeks, we are going to see how it all works – through the eyes of the media and athletes at the games.  Granted, it's been cleaned up and polished for public viewing…but it's going to be fascinating.

Let's see…..34 hours, 48 minutes!  Whoohoo!

My favorite events to watch are gymnastics and swimming…with a little diving, track and field and cycling thrown in….just about anything.  What is your favorite event?

Lovely Monday

I had the day off today, which is kinda weird. Granted, it wasn't for fun stuff, I had two doctor's appointments, but it was still nice to not have to dress up or even put on makeup - and my first appointment was at 10, so I even got to sleep in a little. Got home about 3:15, so I've been puttering around on the internet and am about to work on updating my Amazon.com wishlist cause Laurel insists :)

Oh, and I just finished this little project. Gotta love pokies! This is the first of a few little polka-dot projects that I'm trying to finish up for Etsy. I'll keep you posted.

But first, I must, must figure out how to take better photos. This one just doesn't do it justice. It's so cute, I'm tempted to keep it for myself.

201st Post!

I officially reached 200 posts on this blog last week and I missed it!!! It's kinda amazing really...who would of thunk it?

It's Saturday morning and I'm slowly getting myself ready to head over to Scrap Chic for some scrappin' time. I had thought I'd be up and raring to go, but not so much. I'm enjoying my coffee and breakfast/brunch is almost finished.

Hambly officially announced their design team yesterday, so I can mark that submission off of my list...but I'm going to keep going. I can't wait to see what the new team comes up with. I'm sure it will be inspiring.

Misti's husband has officially started a blog at http://www.mannofthehouse.blogspot.com/. Go check it out. I love the title! And no, that's not a typo. Mann is their last name. :)

Sorry about the lousy glarish photo of this layout - the non-flash photos I took were pretty bad, too. But anyway - this is where I wish I were today. I'm ready for a vacation! I miss the Australian beaches!
What are your plans this weekend?
