Zippy McSnortsalot

And the winner is……Zippy McSnortsalot. That’s it. That’s the new car’s name. But you can call her/him Zippy. I guess we never really did decide on a gender.

As to the story behind the name, surely you get why we call it Zippy – as for the McSnortsalot…we’ll that’s what you get when you are comfortable with your friends and they get you laughing….and it just turned into Zippy McSnortsalot. I’m trying to decide if I should take it personally ;)

On a side note, I 100% admit that the name of the church is SONRISE! I was WRONG! You were RIGHT! There, it’s in writing.

This week is all about getting back on track and getting some stuff done. I’ve got my nose to the grindstone.

Also, as a correction to my previous entry, I was one day to early on the pre-birthday and happy birthday message. That’s what I get when I right a note to myself that Allen’s birthday is on the next page of my calendar! But, I got to talk to him first thing and Mom got to talk to him as well. Happy Birthday!

More later!

Happy Pre-Birthday Allen! Pre-birthdays are important and it’s my brother’s today! I completely believe in both pre and post birthdays. You gotta milk your day for all it’s worth. I can’t be in Australia to wish you a Happy Pre-Birthday in person, so this is as close as I can get. Oh wait, shoot! It’s 1:00 am. in Australia. His pre-birthday is over……

Now it’s time for the real birthday!

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Bubba! Happy birthday to you!

He has lived in Australia for 4 years and I still can’t get the time right.

It’s official! I am the proud owner of a 2004 Volvo S60 2.5T. Once again, let me say that I have been thoroughly blessed to be able to buy this car. I never once thought it would happen.
Let’s just say that if I am ever in a car sandwich again – I think I’ll come out as the winner!

She does need a name. Does anyone have suggestions? What about Betsy?????

Now that’s taken care of, I can get on with life as usual……

I'm just sayin'...

Saturday was a great scrappin’ day with lot of laughter and “ribbing of Rebecca”. Somehow my friends seem to find joy in giving me a hard time ;) Be aware of payback. I’m just sayin’…..

I worked on a altered album that will be a Christmas gift, so unfortunately I can’t post it, just in case the recipient is reading. I got about 5 pages done, but there is certainly a heck of lot more to do. Perhaps I can get some of it taken care of this weekend, although I’m just about to the point in my packing stage that I need to use my scrappin’ table for other things. I may become a weekend scrapper until the move.

Christmas is certainly turning into an event, so Mom and I are going to come up with a plan. Who knows what that will involve, but we’ll give it a shot. You just never know what we’ll end up doing. Previous family events lead me to believe that we certainly won’t be bored.

The car search may have ended. I do have to say that the past couple of weeks have been full of faith building activities. I’m looking forward to them being over – or at least graduating to the next class J But in the midst of all of the things that have happened, I’ve learned an awful lot about myself and even though it’s painful I’m learning to trust in God. All that to say, that I’ve found a car. It’s so much more than I ever expected or dreamed I could have. Now it’s just a matter of finalizing all of the paperwork and actually having the keys in my hand. So, I’ll keep you posted. Wednesday is D-Day!

Friday is pregnant Misti’s “Last Hoorah!”. Lisa, Misti and I are going out on the town (well at least out to eat or something). I can’t believe that she is about to have a baby. It seems a little surreal and I’m not even the one who is pregnant. I know she is excited and I can’t wait to see the new little one.

More later!

Friday, again?

It’s Friday again. Seems like just yesterday was Friday. Time sure is flying!

This weekend is bound to busy – looking for a car, scrapbooking, working on PFT stuff.
I think I need a vacation. Pisa, anyone? Oh, how I wish I were there right now…

It's a brand new, rainy day....

I love rainy days! I know, it's crazy, but it's true. I mostly adore them when I can be at home in my little house under a blanket, watching movies or reading or scrapbooking, but I still love them when I have to actually work. And here's a secret...sometimes I go for a walk when it rains without an umbrella. I don't know what it is, but I just can't seem to help myself!

Today is Wednesday and promises to be crazy. I'm still catching up from all of my time off last week. I have another chiropractor appointment this afternoon, which I am sure will take a while and I have scads of things to work on for Aunt Paula, so I'll definitely be busy.

Plus - we have another marathon scrapbooking day on Saturday and I have NO idea what I am going to work on. I have an idea, but since it will probably end up being a Christmas present for someone who reads this blog....mum's the word.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Car Sandwich, continued...

Here are a couple of photos. I am so thankful that it wasn't worse and that no one was seriously hurt. No news from the insurance company yet - hopefully I will hear from them this week.

At the same time, as we memorialize all of the people who died on 9/11 - if a car crash is all that I have to worry about - life isn't so bad.

Car Sandwich...

In case you've been wondering why I haven't posted in over a week...I've been recovering from being a car sandwich. I was involved in pretty yucky car accident on Tuesday night and am just now getting back to life as I am accustomed.
I was traveling along on GA400, minding my own business, bebopping along to the radio, on the way to Aunt Paula's house when I looked into my rear view window and thought "that car is coming along awfully....." BOOM! I was hit by a Land Rover which plowed me into the truck in front of me.
My seat broke so I ended up laying down in the car with glass from the back windshield all over me, and more embarassingly, my legs up on the dashboard. At the time it wasn't embarassing...but later all I could do was thank God I didn't have a skirt on (lol). It was so bizarre. All I remember thinking was "what's going on here? I didn't do anything."
After finally figuring out that my legs were in the wrong spot I finally managed to get out of the car...only to discover I was bleeding pretty badly. Luckily, the guy I hit was pretty calm and handed me a shirt to stop the bleeding while he tried to figure where exactly I was bleeding from. It was only a split lip, but it sure did bleed a lot. Anyhoo - the three of us, the lady that hit me, me and the guy I hit were definately a motley crew....
The woman who hit me was pregnant, (not visibly). Once we figured out that I wasn't going to bleed to death, she announced that she was having stomach pains and we had her sit down while we waited on the police to arrive. Once they arrived, they took her back to her car and had her lay down. I was sitting on the siderail watching in case anything happened that I could blog (just kidding, although I wished I had a camera so I could scrapbook the pictures, hehehe). The EMT's and fire department and my cousin Dwayne (THE guy to call when in an accident as he knows all of the Roswell emergency workers) arrived and pretty soon the guy I hit was being arrested for driving with a suspended license. Poor guy, talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time!
So - all of our cars were towed away and the lady who hit me went along to the hospital, the man I hit went along to jail and I went along to Aunt Paula's house. Whew.
I've been terribly sore and pretty much an emotional wreck. Here's a big thank you to Dwayne (ever so calm and helpful), Aunt Paula, Lisa and Cathy (and everyone else who called to check on me) for making sure I was okay...even when I didn't want help. I couldn't have recovered without you.
So, it's Sunday afternoon and I am starting to feel human again. I'll finally be back to work tomorrow and will begin the process of looking for a new car (Allstate has pretty much told me that the car is totalled). Wish me luck!
I did end up with a couple of photos of the car after I had to go to the tow yard and clean out my stuff. I'm having trouble getting the card reader to work, but when I get it figured out, I'll post.
Tata for now!
