Happy Monday!

Here is a layout I completed back at Scrap Chic's anniversary crop! I don't think I ever got to share it.

It's kinda a funky picture of the layout - all angly (yes that is an official term), but I'm just to darn lazy to take a new photo!
It was fun to do this page with all of the curves...and the first ever that I've done of the Mann family. I so appreciate ya'll!
And I actually used the tags that come with the Basic Grey paper packs. I never do that. I've just never really been a tag person....but they were perfect for the journaling here.
More soon!

A Special Happy Birthday!

It's a special day! Happy birthday to two wonderful girls, Nancy and Lisa! Now I'm off to attend not one, but two birthday parties!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

GOYBSPN #2

Sorry about the delay in posting, folks. I've been a bit unmotivated! :) I'm sure you understand.

Wednesday night was our second (annual, weekly, monthly - whatever) GOYBSPN night! My task - go through all of the papers I've accumulated in 2007. The container I throw things into was so full and heavy that the wire frame bent. So, this is what I started with...

And this is what I ended with...

Doesn't seem like much progress, right? I got everything sorted out and made piles for scanning. And then threw it all in a pile to deal with later. Oops. Talk about procrastination. I guess this week's project will be a continuation of last weeks project :)

Misti was WAY more successful. Check out her project here.

GOYBSPN #2

2nd weekly GOYBSPN night is Thursday! We're going to try it again. Misti and I both are on board to go for second week in a row. Now if only I could stop procrastinating on making the list of what do to on "stop procrastinating" night! J Actually, I've got it figured out…it will involve all of those pesky papers that pile up over the course of the year. Nasty things…those bills and records. Thursday is the night I'm purging and making a pile of things to scan so they can eventually be disposed of. Otherwise, they will keep piling up in my closet.

Are you going to join us? Hope you do – let us know!

This past weekend was really, really eventful. I had every intention of taking tons of pictures and took my camera everywhere. And didn't take single one. Argh. It was just too busy. Oh well.

Here's hoping everyone had a wonderful Easter! More soon!

First Ever GOYBSPN!

Last night was the first official Get Off Your Butt and Stop Procrastinating Night. Now, I know that's a long name, but it was the best we could come up with to really motivate ourselves.  GOYBSPN for short!  If anyone has a better suggestion, you just let me know!By us, I mean Misti and I.

You know those pesky little projects that really are important – but you just never do them for some reason or another.  Well, last night was the night to take care of at least one of those projects.  And it worked!  I, unfortunately, can't show pictures of my projects since it's a "secret" project, but Misti did a great documenting hers. But it's almost done!  I had to wait for it to dry, or else I would be finished.  Darn that glitter!

I did discover, like Misti, that knowing that Wednesday night was GOYBSPN night, I was motivated to mark some other procrastinated items off of my to-do list.  It's a marvelous thing.

I think next week, instead of calling, we'll try using Yahoo messenger.  I'm always worried to turn on the computer, though, when I'm working on a project like that.  I'm too easily distracted.  We'll give it a try…

Want to join us?  Post a comment if you do!  Next tentatively scheduled date – Wednesday, March 26th.  Will post an update after I confirm with "Crop Girl".

*Yawn*

*Yawn*  I'm beat.  My procrastination, sofa shopping and life in general got the better of me this weekend/week.  I had a deadline today for Scrap Chic, and man, did I cut it close.  Because of it, I feel like I am coming out of a fog this afternoon.  But it's done for now and I can breathe a little bit.

My sofa is being picked up and delivered today, so by this evening, I will be able to sit on it and relax, before revving up for the rest of the week and weekend.  I have small group on Thursday night, Friday is eMo's birthday party, Saturday we are scrappin' at Archiver's.  Sunday really will be a day of rest.

More soon!  I have several new layouts to share!

Essay on a Sofa

What have I been up to since my last post?  Well, all manner of things – mostly crazy fun things, but some things more crazy than fun J  The greatest of these is the sofa saga….

I am getting a new sofa. Now, for those of you who know me well enough to have been invited to my house, I already have a wonderful sofa.  It's blue with feather pillows on the back and squishy comfortable.  To our recollection it is approximately 30 years old.  It used to have feather seat cushions as well as was covered in gold velvet.  It got a bit of spruce up about when I was in high school to the blue fabric.  It was my grandmother's originally, and as far back as I can remember it's been a standard in our house.

I love that sofa, but for the past 6 years I have dreamt of something new and just mine.  It seemed pretty unattainable for some reason, but the time has come.  I've had this perfect picture of "Rebecca's" sofa in my head.  I think I had unrealistic expectations.  The first unrealistic thing was thinking I could buy one that would last another 30 years and my grandchildren would use until they could afford their own.  I could do that – but I would have to spend about 5 times what I can afford to spend.  The second thing was this picture of the perfect sofa I had in my mind.  I think it just doesn't exist yet.  I've looked for years, looked at every website known to man and I just haven't ever found it.  By Saturday, a 6 year desire culminated into 2 furniture stores….and I was making a decision, dang it.

The whole thing was that it couldn't be froufy (that is a technical term, really!) and had to be comfortable for napping, tv watching, reading, eating dinner, reading magazines, dreaming about future scrapbook pages, etc.   It's basically the most important piece of furniture in my house.  Those are some big shoes to fill.

So, I bought it on Saturday.  It hasn't been delivered yet – that's another story for another day.  Sunday was a day of serious buyer's remorse.  Today I'm much better.  Without further ado…

Oh – aaaaannnnnddddd.  Not only did I get a sofa, but I also got a loveseat!  I have room for multiple sitters!!!!!!  J

I'm still here...I promise!

Life has officially gotten in the way - but getting back on track now.

Here's a layout of Jonathan, Chris and Misti's darling boy, that I worked on at the Scrap Chic Anniversary Crop. More soon - gotta get scrappin'!

Tonight was supposed to be an "unplugged" night, but since I'm blogging, that didn't happen. I think I'm going to throw in the towel and watch "Big Brother".... Anyone else watching?
